Patty O’Leary, LMHC

Patty O’Leary (they/them), Mental Health Counselor, received their MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and their BA in English (minor in Women’s Studies) from SUNY New Paltz. Previously, Patty has worked as a primary therapist at Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Manhattan in both the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs and in community mental health serving LGBTQIA+ individuals. Patty primarily works with clients who hold LGBQ+ and/or TGNC identities, those who identify with polyamorous and kink communities, people on the asexual and aromantic spectrums, and individuals experiencing disordered eating/eating disorders.

Patty deeply values the therapeutic alliance formed during sessions and strives to create a space to work collaboratively with curiosity and without judgment. Patty approaches therapy with a holistic, person-centered, integrative, anti oppressive, and trauma-informed framework. Patty utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic modalities. There is so much possibility in what therapy can look like, and Patty’s goal is to collaborate with clients to find what works best for each individual.
