Kristine Troescher, LMHC

Licensed Psychotherapist

Kristine is an intuitive licensed psychotherapist (LMHC) with experience in clinical settings working with individuals. She obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP accredited program at Long Island University and is also a Nationally Certified Counselor.

Kristine establishes an empathic and trusting therapeutic relationship in a warm and accepting environment for her clients to feel safe to speak freely and openly. She has a gentle, kind, and patient style with clients and gives unconditional support. Kristine favors an integrative approach of psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. She believes it is important to gain insight into where our thoughts and behaviors stem from in order to make lasting change. She also practices therapeutic approaches like acceptance and commitment, strength-based, emotionally focused, and person-centered therapies. She draws on motivational interviewing, mindfulness exercises, and psychoeducation.

Acknowledging that every person is unique and what may be helpful for one client may not help another, the approach and techniques used are based on each client’s needs. Kristine is dedicated to the progress of her clients and aims to empower them to move towards the change they want to make in themselves and in their lives. She is culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ allied, and welcoming of clients from all walks of life. Mental health conditions and common challenges she works with include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, low self-esteem, relationship issues, interpersonal conflicts, suicidal ideation, life transitions, gender identity, and establishing boundaries.
