Emily Lippman, LMSW

Licensed Psychotherapist

Emily Lippman, Licensed Master Social Worker, received her Master of Social Work from Fordham University and her Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Studies from Columbia University. Emily’s creative background informs her therapy practice– she sees therapy as a collaborative process and empowers her clients to explore character, story, and motivation while they write the lives they desire. Emily works within a psychodynamic framework to cultivate deep self-understanding. She provides a warm, non judgemental space for clients to explore their desires, dreams, and memories. She sees the therapist-client relationship as a profound source of solidarity and self-discovery. Emily also uses mindfulness and cognitive tools to create a tailored approach that supports holistic wellness, helps individuals navigate life transitions and relationships, and promotes healing from the suffering that may be caused by depression, anxiety, or trauma. Emily’s work is trauma-informed and she completed her graduate school training supporting survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.

Emily is committed to providing anti-oppressive treatment and her work is inclusive of all identities and lifestyles. Above all, Emily prioritizes reaching clients where they are at, considering their external and internal worlds, helping them open up, promoting equity, and providing space for them to enact resilience. She looks forward to getting to know you better, collaborating in therapy, and watching you grow.
