Alyssa has provided therapy to address a diverse array of issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss of a loved one, trauma and PTSD, procrastination, Executive Functioning, work stress, life goals, healthy multiplicity, and more.
They are knowledgeable and experienced working with individuals and relationship dyads, polyamorous & ethical non-monogamous constellations, exploring sexuality and gender expression, alternative lifestyles (BDSM/Kink), and neurodivergence.
Alyssa has trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
After graduating from the Columbia University School of Social Work, they stayed connected by co-organizing a peer supervision for early career social workers and Ashley Leeds, another psychotherapist at this practice. Their undergraduate studies were at McGill University, Montréal, QC, Canada (yes, it is as snowy as you’d imagine!), focusing on Sociology and intersectional feminism and sexuality studies, with a double minor in Hispanic Culture & Language and Russian Jewish Culture. Feel free to strike up a conversation in Russian or Spanish, though all therapy will be in English.
