Sonia (Sun) Yom, LMSW

Sun (Sonia) works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, grief, and life transitions. She also has experience supporting women and families through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and other significant life changes. As a Korean-American immigrant, Sonia understands the unique challenges of navigating multiple cultures, family expectations, identity, and belonging. She enjoys working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and strives to create a welcoming, culturally responsive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood.

Sonia believes that healing begins with feeling safe enough to be yourself. She approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, taking time to understand each person’s unique story rather than focusing only on symptoms. Together, she works with clients to better understand patterns that may be keeping them stuck, build practical coping skills, and move toward healthier relationships and a more meaningful life. Sonia values a collaborative approach to therapy and feels honored to support clients as they discover their own strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth.

Sonia is a Licensed Psychotherapist in New Jersey and New York and earned her Master of Social Work from the Touro University Graduate School of Social Work.
